UV Bioluminescent Garden
Light Installation

Bioluminescent Garden returns in a special UV Edition as part of Light Up Kilburn. This light installation has been created with and for the local community through hands-on workshops, where participants made sculptural flowers using simple materials and decorated them with UV pens and paints. Text, patterns and imagery inspired by Kilburn’s streets, green spaces and local histories are embedded into each flower, weaving a strong sense of place throughout the garden.

When illuminated with UV light, the markings glow vividly, transforming the handmade forms into a softly luminous landscape. The flowers are weatherproof and securely installed so that wind and movement become part of the experience, adding a subtle sense of life. Together, the garden becomes a resilient, diverse ecosystem and gently reimagining public space after dark and inviting people to pause, gather and connect.

Light Up Kilburn 2026 returns to Kilburn Grange Park for its second edition, following the success of the inaugural 2024 festival. This family-friendly celebration of light, sound and creativity will transform the park into a captivating experience, featuring inspiring artworks by local artists, illuminated trails, soundscapes, and interactive activations.
