At this year's Unveiling Festival, Hannah will be presenting:
Unentitled (2018)
Installation | Mixed Media
(With special thanks to Sam Pierce)
Looking at the concept of ‘Grace’, what strikes me the most is that we cannot fully appreciate God’s grace until we comprehend how completely undeserving of it we are. Grace is only grace because it is unwarranted.
In ‘Unentitled’ I have used the form of a mobile to explore ideas between balance and judgement. We are weighed down by our human fallibility, yet we can experience God’s grace by that weight being lifted. We are not entitled to his counterbalancing loving kindness.
Grace is a complex concept and cannot be fully captured by a single installation. Nevertheless, my hope is that this installation will give people a glimpse into how I understand grace and help them to be thankful.
Viewers are free to the move the rocks on/off the cross.
The UNVEILING Arts Festival exists to engage people in a deeper understanding of the Gospel and the heart of God by sharing insights through the creative arts, relating to specific themes. A select group of artists are assigned the same brief, which they will consider prayerfully before creating original art in response. The aim is to have a varied, God-breathed assortment of inspired and excellent artistic interpretations that will resonate powerfully in people’s hearts and minds.
